Our Office Team
We believe that good teamwork is essential for providing consistently reliable, high-quality translations and
for sound project management.
We've made a conscious decision to stick with and invest in our "real" office as it provides a
constant learning environment for both new and experienced staff and helps foster the good teamwork needed to
provide you with a superior service!
Meet the team:

Office Manager - Dorota Swiatek
Dorota comes from Poland where she studied Applied Linguistics at the Adam Mickiewicz University,
Poznan.
She speaks Polish, English and German fluently and also has excellent French and Russian.
She's responsible for the smooth running of our office and also manages our translator network.

Project Manager - Renata Simson
Renata also comes from Poland and studied German language & literature at the University of Gdansk.
She worked for a number of years as an in-house translator for a German-Polish telecoms company and then
as a freelance translator.
She is our second project manager and advises us on all matters to do with the Polish language.

Accounts Executive - Jan Carrington
Jan is our longest-serving member of staff and brings many years of experience in accounts
administration.
She's responsible for issuing client invoices, paying our translators and the general running of our
accounts department.

Staff Translator - Peter Robbins
Peter studied French & German at Oxford University.
Following a spell in France as an English Language Teaching Assistant, he joined us in May 2008 as a
translator for German & French to English.

Staff Translator - Lindsay Irish
Lindsay has a first class BA Modern Languages degree from the University of Sheffield, where she
studied French, German, Swedish and Luxembourg Studies.
After spending some time studying in Sweden and successfully completing an MA Translation Studies
degree at the University of Birmingham, she joined our translation team in October 2009.

Translation consultant and proofreader - Ulrich Guettinger
In the early 1970s, Ulrich, who is a German speaker, moved from Switzerland to London where he
completed his studies with a First Class Honours Degree in French.
He joined D.F. Long & Co (Translations) Ltd in 1981 and later bought the company.
He now works as a translation consultant and specialises in the revision of French and German financial
translations.
